Arlene & Rick Grant established CastleRock in 1988 with the purchase of their foundation bitch Glenmont My Wee Yin. Maddie was owner/handled to her championship with 4 major wins and a Best of Breed over specials. She produced 3 owner/handled champions, two of which were 5 point CTCA goblet winners at Regional Specialties.CastleRock dogs have received some very prestigious wins such as Best of Breed from the classes at the Hatboro Dog Club show in 1994, Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the National Specialty in 1999, Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the Potomac Cairn Terrier Regional Specialty in 2001.

Rick has judged two Regional Specialty Sweepstakes and several all breed matches. He was Editor of the Cairn Terrier Club of America Newsletter for five years and served on the CTCA Board of Governors. He is currently Editor of the Housatonic Cairn Capers quarterly newsletter. Both Arlene and Rick have been officers of the local all-breed Rhode Island Kennel Club, and the Housatonic Cairn Terrier Club.

We average one well-planned litter per year, which produces healthy pups with good temperaments for both the show ring and family companions.
